Catch Willy Wonka Before He Leaves Town at Washington High School | KCII Radio

Audiences have two remaining chances to be transported to a world of pure imagination with the Washington High School drama department’s production of Willy Wonka.
Director Don Hughes shares how he selected the show for this year’s fall production, “It just kind of struck me. I think we’ve got the right kids for the right roles. The cast is super cool, they’re going to be good. It sounded fun to do, and actually, we had a joke last year when we did Little Women, where the choir director put up all of these shows and narrowed it down. One of them was Willy Wonka and that actually got a lot of traction from the kids. Like, ‘Oh, we can do this, let’s do this, let’s do this.’ So I did that. I think this is going to be a great show to see, and a great cast to watch. I think it’s going to be a pretty darn fun show.”
Willy Wonka will be portrayed by Quintyn Garibay with Charlie played by Anthony Raymundo. The story of Willy Wonka follows Charlie Bucket as he earns a golden ticket to tour Wonka’s chocolate factory amid other unique child characters.
Tonight the show will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. The final show will be taking place Sunday, November 16th, at 2:30 p.m. at the Washington High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and students are free.
